Bioplatform Cancer Genomics Workshop at The University of Sydney

25 July 2017

Course Description

The Cancer Genomics Workshop aims to provide an introduction to cancer genomics analytical pipelines for single nucleotide variations (SNV), copy number variations (CNV) and structural variations (SV).

Workshop Content

Topics that will be covered during this workshop include experimental design, variant calling, annotation and visualisation of cancer genome data.

The workshop will be delivered using a mixture of lectures, hands-on practical sessions and open discussions.

The Cancer Genomics workshop will also include a special guest presentation from Dr Mark Cowley (Team Leader, Translational Genomics at Garvan Institute of Medical Research)

Target Audience

This workshop has been designed for cancer biologists, wet lab scientists and clinical researchers who have specific interests in cancer analysis pipelines. The workshop assumes that attendees have a general understanding of cancer biology. No prior experience with the command line is required, but a familiarity will be useful.

Preference will be given to medical researchers from NSW and ACT based organisations.
